The target audience

This self-paced online training is for:

  • students in the last two years of secondary education (all French-speaking countries combined)
  • first-year students in higher education
  • second or third year students wishing to strengthen their working method in higher education
  • adults returning to school

But also…

  • for pedagogical guides to help students succeed in establishments
  • secondary school teachers accompanying a class group
  • pedagogical advisers in higher education
  • the parents of a 5th and 6th secondary student or a 1st year higher education student

Goals

Based on twenty years of methodological support for students, this MOOC aims to:

  • Provide students with personal, effective working methods adapted to their various courses;
  • Allow students to get to know each other better in terms of study methods thanks to personalized courses, based on self-assessment questionnaires, throughout the MOOC;
  • Equip students with effective strategies in an active way by allowing them to test these strategies directly and to appropriate them through scripted sequences;
  • Understand how it works when learning so that you can learn more effectively.

This MOOC will issue a participation badge.

The contents

The MOOC is organized on the basis of 8 weeks.

  • 0: Introduction: objectives, practical methods and operation of the MOOC Placement test to identify your needs on study methods in higher education
  • 1: Module 1: Getting to work and staying there
  • 2: Module 2: time management and organization

(extends on week 3 for the regulation of the schedule)

  • 3: Module 3: actively processing your subject
  • 4: Module 3: dealing with your subject actively (continued)
  • 5: Module 4: memorizing to mobilize knowledge in concrete situations
  • 6: Module 5: being autonomous to learn
  • 7: Module 6: managing academic emotions
  • 8: Bonus module: managing distance learning and closing the MOOC

This MOOC is based on differentiated learning according to each person's needs. For each module, the learner is really put into action to promote his learning. He/she has the opportunity to interact with the other participants or with the teacher who accompanies him/her in the MOOC.
